Unmasking Anonymous Bloggers Scares Siouxsie

As reported in the ABA Journal, a Tennessee judge ruled that the identity of  an anonymous blogger could be revealed under certain circumstances.  (Shudder).

In Swartz v. Does, a husband and wife brought a defamation and invasion of privacy case against anonymous bloggers after being accused of arson, tax evasion and drug addiction.  The Swartzes subpoenaed Google to learn the identity of one of the bloggers, and that blogger then filed a motion to quash.  The Tennessee court adopted a five-part standard set out by a New Jersey court and denied the motion to quash.

Siouxsie advocates adding a sixth part to the standard that would exclude snarky-offbeat-gothic anonymous bloggers.   To be on the safe side, Siouxsie hereby retracts the following statements  — Steve Madden sucks; Mr. Glenn Beck raped and murdered a girl in 1990; and President Obama wasn’t born in the USA.
