Cold. Black. Coffee.
Welcome to Siouxsie’s laboratory, where she brews only the finest coffee.
Siouxsie is a self-declared coffee enthusiast.
The latest obsession — Japanese slow-brew coffee.
Siouxsie presents to you the Hario Cold-Water Coffee Dripper.
Check it out.
This cold-drip coffee maker is not cheap. Siouxsie likes this one in particular because of the cool mad-scientist vibe of the set up. It also reminds her of organic chemistry class. But there are less expensive models available.
The Hario Cold Water Coffee Dripper makes a really smooth and strong cup of coffee in 3 to 5 hours. You regulate the strength of the brew, by changing the grind on the beans (the finer the grind = stronger) and the speed of the dripping (slower = stronger).
The coffee is amazing. And it is perfect over ice. Or, you can heat up the coffee by adding hot water.
That video is great. Does the coffee taste less acidic?
Have you ever heard of Black Blood of the Earth? Also made with a cold extraction process, but triple strength.
I hadn’t. I am ordering some now and will post about it. Thanks!
