Red and Black Week
Today is the first day of Sophistique Noir’s Second Annual Red & Black Week. So, it was time for a manicure and some outfit pics.
I tried my first ever splatter manicure. I highly recommend it. You just paint your nails one color. Then you go all Jackson Pollock over them with other colors.
If you click on this photo you can see the splatter nails a little better.
I’m modeling a goth doll designed by artist Amy Wilson. You can find the cute skeletons at this link.
I accessorized my outfit with a pair of Iron Fist shoes. I chose a charcoal, red and black pair of open toed platforms. This pair has a gory eyeball, tentacle, and blood spatter design. I became convinced that I needed a pair of Iron Fist shoes after Le Professeur Gothique posted about her pair. Le Professeur wore hers to the mall and the shoes made children cry. Squee! I can’t think of a better endorsement.
Given recent events,* these shoes may have become even less tasteful. Even better.
*Gawker reports that the CDC has confirmed that the Zombie Virus is not real despite the cluster of recent cannibal attacks
Your shoes are amazing! I love them. Your nail art fits the theme of the shoes.
I am an expert with splatter.
HAHAHAHA!!!! I’m happy that my story made you get a pair of Iron Fists for yourself! I can kick myself for not getting the werewolf Iron Fists: Wolfbeaters! Those were seriously gory and I LOVE them!!! 🙂 WAHOO!!!
Such great shoes. Thanks for posting about them!
Wow! Very cool nail technique. They look great with that adorable little skelly guy.
Keep us posted on how many children you traumatize with those killer shoes. There is so much potential fun to be had with those babies! 😀
I’m hoping to get some good blog posts out of wearing these shoes.
Yeah, those shoes are fantastic. I also really enjoy the idea of “going all Jackson Pollock” on my nails.
Highly recommend splattering some nail polish!
Uhum…I must try this nail technique, it’s so interesting! ^^
I love the nails! I’m up for anything that doesn’t require precision. I’ll be trying this soon. The skeleton doll is amazing, as are the shoes. I would love to have chilren cry at the sight of my footwear 😛
Yay! Highly recommend trying the mani. It is the most fun I’ve had ever doing my nails.
I love your style and your shoes! Looking forward to further entries into red&black week from your side…
Thanks! I am so impressed with all the bloggers that can do multiple fashion/style posts.
Gorgeous! All the elements here are so wonderful. I own the Iron Fist heels in the Bela’s Dead vampire version, and they are so pretty-but they make my feet hurt so badly! That’s the only thing that’s kept me from snapping up a million pairs. I love these, strangely, despite my fear of severed eyeballs. 🙂
I’m addicted. Now I want every Iron Fist version. They aren’t very comfortable but they are worth it.
OMG Y U SO HAWT?
You did the splatter mani! I’ve been wanting to do this but too lazy for the mess. Looks awesome, your’s is by far one of the better ones I’ve seen.
If you use a straw, it isn’t too messy. But you may lose brain cells (and feel a small sense of euphoria).
Oooh, I’m loving the nails. I use Sally Hansen Kackle in red, and it looks awesome over black nails. I will post a pic for red and black week tomorrow. How do you prevent the multiple streaks from chipping/smudging off? Also, those shoes!!! I have a major shoe fetish, and those are beauties. Where did you get them, pray tell. Are they comfortable?
