Las Vegas crime reporter has turned artist.

Abby Goldman “uses tiny figurines to recreate scenes of gore and mayhem, everything from trailer park murders to decapitations with gardening equipment. She calls them ‘die-o-ramas.'”

The attention to detail and historical accuracy makes them.  They are definitely on my “want” list.

UPDATE :   As pointed out by TanteFledermaus, miniatures modeled to look like crime scenes were the modus operandi of the serial killer throughout season 7 of the fictitious CBS crime-scene drama “CSI:  Crime Scene Investigation.”

Fascinating (at least to me), the CSI story line was inspired by the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death.  Designed by a millionaire heiress, Frances Glesner Lee, with an interest in forensic studies, the Nutshell Studies are dollhouse recreations of actual murder scenes.  A book on the Nutshell Studies can be found at this link.

  1. Awesome! She should use stop-action animation to make them move. I smell a new YouTube sensation.

  2. Wasn’t this an elaborate CSI story arc many seasons ago?

  3. Very clever and catchy for the artist to call them “Die-o-ramas”

  4. These would make for an awesome conversation piece.
